Cleaning and care of sterling silver (.925) jewellery.

We do not recommend using liquid silver cleaner, as it can harm sensitive stones and leave a dull residue; instead use a soft polishing cloth to restore the shine of metal and a soft toothbrush to get into crevices and under stones.  Plain white tooth paste and water can also be used to remove surface oxidization.  Avoid contact with harsh cleaning products, perfumes, hair spray and chlorine as they can cause the silver to tarnish.  Any pieces with opals and pearls require special attention. Store your pieces after cleaning in a resealable bag or airtight container to discourage tarnishing.
